2008 OUTLOOK: Shane is a transfer from Utah State University and was one of the top 400-meter runners in his class.  Shane has had a solid fall and looks to valuable depth to the long sprints.

2007 (AT UTAH STATE): Cronin competed in the 200 and 400 meter dashes. He was the No. 3 freshman at USU in the 400 at the WAC Indoor Championship.

HIGH SCHOOL: Cronin ran the 200, 400, 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays in high school. He was a member of the 2005 State 5A 4x100 relay team. In 2005 he was a two-time league champion in the 400 and 4x400 and three-time in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 in 2004.

ACADEMICS: Cronin is a history major at Colorado and is also interested in architecture. He was a member of the honor roll in high school.

PERSONAL: Shane Michael Cronin was born on April 16, 1987. He is the son of Thomas and Marisa Cronin of Littleton, Colo. His grandfather played college football/baseball and opted out of a MLB contract to fulfill military duties. His aunt, Lisa Valdez ran track and cross country at UNC. His brother Duane played college football for Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico. Cronin enjoys snowboarding, dirt biking, music and video games. He has met Jeremy Wariner.
