COLLEGE- 2011: Coburn had a great final cross country season for the Buffs, earning All-Pac-12 First Team, all-region and All-America honors. She was CU's No. 2 finisher in all three races she competed, including a pair of fifth-place finishes at the Pac-12 and regional championships. Coburn earned her first All-American honor when she crossed the finish 20th overall (20:09). She helped the Buffs win the inaugural Pac-12 title, tie for first in the regional championship and place 11th at NCAAs.
2010: Coburn continued to play an important role for the Buffs as a junior. She raced to her best finish at the Rocky Mountain Shootout, placing second overall and just one second behind teammate Laura Tremblay. Coburn helped the team out two weeks later to a second-place finish in the 'white' race at pre-nationals, taking 14th overall. She earned her first all-conference honor at the Big 12 Championship after finishing fifth overall. The team placed just second to Texas Tech by just nine points. Coburn took her second all-region honor two weeks later at the NCAA Mountain Region Championship after finishing 11th. She ended the year at nationals with a 53rd-place finish as CU took sixth overall.
2009: Coburn continued to shine for the Buffs during her sophomore campaign. She started the season out strong by racing to a third-place finish at the Rocky Mountain Shootout behind teammates Jenny Barringer and Allie McLaughlin. Two weeks later Coburn helped the Buffs to a win at pre-nats; taking 32nd overall as the fifth Buff to finish. She continued to score for CU as she was also the fifth harrier for the Buffs at the Big 12 Championship, coming in 22nd overall. Coburn earned her first all-region honor after she recorded a 16th-place finish and improved to the No. 4 position on the team. Coburn finished the season at nationals. She was the No. 2 Buff and finished 115th overall.
2008: Coburn was one of two freshmen women to score for the Buffs and did so in four meets. She started off her career with a 25th-place finish at the Iowa State Invitational and was the sixth Buff to cross the finish. She followed up that performance with her best finish of the season (eighth) at the Rocky Mountain Shootout (fourth Buff). Coburn was 139th at the pre-national meet (fifth to score). During the two postseason races, Coburn was the No. 3 runner for CU. She placed 27th at the Big 12 meet and was 30th at regionals.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coburn was an all-state performer for four years for the Titans; including two fourth place finishes at the state cross country meet in 2006 and 2007. She placed 29th at the 2007 Foot Locker Midwest Championship. On the track Coburn is an eight-time 2A state champion. She owns five CBHS records: 400m (1:02), 800m (2:16), 1,600m (5:11), 3,200m (11:32), the 4x800-meter relay and in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch). She ran the 2,000-meter steeplechase at Nike Outdoor Nationals. Coburn placed second in 2008 and fourth in 2007 to earn a pair of All-American honors.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Coburn is majoring in marketing at Colorado and was a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. She owns a greater than 3.20 GPA and was a two-time selection to the Academic All-Big 12 team. Coburn was also earned honorable mention Pac-12 Academic honors in 2011.
PERSONAL: Emma Jane Coburn was born on October 19, 1990 in Boulder, Colo. She is the daughter of Bill and Annie Coburn of Crested Butte, Colo. She has three siblings, Willy, Grace and Joe. Willy and Grace both attended CU. Coburn has volunteered with Living Journeys Cancer Foundation and the Mountain Adventure Kid's Camp while in high school.
