SENIOR (2012): Millar played quality time and grabbed six saves in
three games her senior season. She saw minutes against Denver (1-4) and
contributed to the Buffs' 3-0 shutout of Arizona. Millar played a season-high
76 minutes on Senior Day, allowing zero goals and snagging four saves in the
Buffs' 1-1 draw against Utah. Her strength as a reserve in the final game of
the season also helped her to CU Athlete of the Week honors. Millar's 35 total
saves ranked her 10th on CU's all-time saves list.
JUNIOR (2011): Millar
saw increased time as goalkeeper in 2011, starting five of her seven games. She
had 28 total saves, an average of 4.50 per Pac-12 game, tying her for the best
average in conference play. Her 27 saves in six conference games ranked her ninth
on the Pac-12 list of most saves. She was one of 12 Pac-12 goalkeepers to have
at least one shutout in conference play. Her shutout came in CU's 1-0 win
against the University of California, their first conference win in the Pac-12.
SOPHOMORE (2010): Millar
served as one of CU's reserve goalkeepers in 2010. She played in two games and
started CU's 2-1 win over Washington State, although she didn't factor in the
decision for that match. She recorded one save in 79 minutes played.
FRESHMAN (2009 at CU-COLORADO SPRINGS): Millar played one season at UCCS, just the
second year of the varsity program helping the Mountain Lions to a 7-10-1
record and a spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference playoffs. She was
5-7-1 in net for UCCS with a 1.86 goals against average and a .789 save
percentage. Her 90 saves and five wins rank second on the young program's
record book.
HIGH SCHOOL: She
earned four letters while attending Legacy High School and was a contributor in
getting her team to the state playoffs all four years. She was named as the
defender of the year her senior year. During her junior season, Millar was
named first-team all-conference. She earned an academic letter her freshman
year and was a member of the Colorado Edge club team in Arvada, Colo., under
coach Scott Patterson.
IN THE CLASSROOM: She
is majoring in communication while minoring in business and graphic design at
Colorado.
PERSONAL: She
was born on April 2, 1991, to Dean and Jean Millar of Thornton, Colo. She has a
younger sister, Ashley. She has been a volunteer at the Lightning Boltz Camp
for two years. Her hobbies include snowboarding, drawing and photography.
