MPSF Rookie of the Week (March 10)
All-MPSF Second Team

FRESHMAN (2014): The 2014 co-captain proved a true leader in her freshman season. Moore was one of seven Buffs to start all 19 games, and led the team with 68 draw controls, 43 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Moore also set CU single-game records with seven ground balls (against Brown) and 11 draw controls (against Old Dominion). Her 11 draw controls also matched a 2014 MPSF single-game high. Moore had five or more draw controls in five different games. She ranked in the top four on the team in points (32), goals (29), free-position goals (11), shots (53) and shots on goal (44). She ranked in the MPSF top eight in ground balls, draw controls, shots and free-position goals per game. Moore scored goals in 14 games, beginning the season on a six-game scoring streak. She recorded six hat tricks and scored at least two goals on nine occasions. Moore earned an MPSF Rookie of the Week title for recording hat tricks and netting game-winners in back-to-back games against Temple and Fresno State, the latter of which served as CU’s first ever conference victory. In the MPSF Tournament, Moore tallied two goals, six draw controls, three caused turnovers (becoming one of only two Buffs to record three in a single game) and two ground balls.

COACH ELLIOTT ON MOORE: "Marie is a strong, solid midfielder. Her athleticism, speed, skill and competitive drive make her a threat all over the field. Marie is the type of player that will never give up and can grind it out mentally and physically. We are extremely excited to have Marie in our first ever recruiting class and believe she will excel at CU."

HIGH SCHOOL: Moore and the Brick Memorial lacrosse team accomplished a lot in three seasons before Moore was forced to sit out her senior year with an ACL injury. In Moore's first year with the team, the Mustangs recorded their first ever winning season. In her freshman and sophomore seasons, she was named third-team All-Shore. The team's captain for three seasons, Moore scored 94 goals and had 73 assists her junior season while being named to the South Jersey National Team and picking up first-team All-Shore, third-team All-State and team MVP honors. Moore was the Shore's leading point scorer, netting 202 goals and adding 168 assists in three seasons. She was named 2013 ESPN Player to Watch. Moore was also skilled on the soccer pitch. She was her team's captain her junior and senior seasons and earned three MVP honors. She was also a first-team All-County and A-South selection. She spent five seasons with the T3 Elite lacrosse club and helped the Brick Bullets soccer club to the 2009 State Cup Championship. Moore was also a two-year letter-winner in basketball.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Moore is an integrative physiology major.

PERSONAL: Marie Moore was born on September 26, 1994 to Bernadette and Adrien David Moore. Moore was on distinguished honor roll all four years of high school. She was a member of the Key Club her freshman year, the National Honor Society as a junior and the Peer Leadership mentoring program as a senior. She enjoys math and going to the beach. She is a New York Yankees fan who loves the music of Sublime.
