BOULDER- For the first time in program history, the University of Colorado volleyball team will play in 12 televised matches. The Pac-12 Networks launch August 15 and will consist of one national and six regional networks, including a Mountain network, devoted solely to the Pac-12.

In the past, CU had one or two home matches broadcast on ROOT Sports or FSN Rocky Mountain. Now with the Pac-12 Networks, fans will be able to watch the Buffs play over half of their conference schedule. The Buffs will play a pair of matches on the national channel and the other 10 will be shown on the regional networks.

"The Pac-12 Network coverage is a considerable upgrade in our program's television appearance schedule," head coach Liz Kritza said. "The innovation behind the concept of televising so many events is truly remarkable and will do wonders for all the schools in the league and for the sport of volleyball itself. We are excited that we are part of the most televised conference in the country (the Pac-12 will televise three times as many volleyball matches as any other conference) and look forward to a very exciting upcoming season."

CU will host Utah on Sept. 19 to kick off the TV schedule. That match is slated to start at 8 p.m. and will be the first of six home matches on TV. The matches against Washington State (Oct. 5), Washington (Oct. 7), Oregon (Oct. 26) and Oregon State (Oct. 28) will all be televised on the regional network and the contest against Arizona (Oct. 14) will be CU's first appearance on the national network.

The Buffs will have six road tilts broadcast as well. Oregon State (Sept. 28), USC (Oct. 21), Washington (Nov. 2), Stanford (Nov. 21) and Utah (Nov. 23) will be on the regional networks, while the contest against Washington State (Oct. 31) will be broadcast nationally.

In its inaugural season, the Pac-12 Networks will televise 82 Pac-12 women's volleyball matches; just a portion of 217 live events including football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's water polo, field hockey and cross country telecast over 100 days this fall, putting the Conference of Champions on a national stage.

In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to their carrier's TV Everywhere platform, providing access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service.
