Welcome to Buffaloes Summer Break where CUBuffs.com catches up with Colorado student-athletes and coaching staff members throughout the summer "off season."
Today's installment comes from junior outside hitter Jessica Aschenbrenner. A native of Denver and graduate of Cherry Creek High School, Aschenbrenner played an important role on Colorado's back row in 2011. She saw action in 89 of 109 sets, ranking sixth on the team at 1.1 digs per set. A business major, she earned honorable mention to the 2012 Academic All-Pac-12 Volleyball Team.
What is your favorite summer time activity?
Hanging out at the pool with friends.
Favorite vacation destination and why?
Anywhere I have not been yet because I love experiencing new places around the world.
What was your first summer job?
Working for my dad at his restaurant.
What was your most memorable summer job experience?
Working for my best friend’s mom at a medical billing office as a billing analyst.
What is the most important activity you engage in during the summer months that helps prepare you for the next season?
Open gyms with teammates which keeps me active throughout summer.
If they offer a class in ________ at Colorado during the summer I would surely get an A+
What is your favorite moment here at Colorado so far?

The thing that surprised you the most about the move from the Big 12 to the Pac-12 Conferences is:
The change in competition level.
Best advice for youth that are beginning to compete in athletics.
Never say “I can’t.” Ever.
If you could play a single game/event for a CU Team that is not your sport, which would it be and why?
Lacrosse because it seems fun.
If you could bring one famous person to Colorado for a day-long tour who would it be, and what would you do with them?
Jason Aldean, and I would probably make him host a concert.
