DENVER—Former University of Colorado DL Conrad Obi was signed by the Atlanta Falcons Friday. Obi, who prepped in College Park, Ga., just 10 miles south of Atlanta, was a senior on coach Jon Embree’s first CU squad last season.
Obi closed out his career with a breakout senior season, playing in all 13 games and starting seven. He had 31 tackles (14 solo with one for a loss), two third down stops, two tackles for zero, a fumble recovery and three pass break-ups.
Obi is one of five rookies on NFL training camp rosters from the Buffaloes, along with Ryan Miller (Cleveland Browns), Toney Clemons (Pittsburgh Steelers), Anthony Perkins (Denver Broncos) and Tyler Hansen (Cincinnati Bengals). Rodney Stewart was also signed by the Bengals but suffered a knee injury and was released with an injury settlement by the club.

Obi gradued from CU with a degree in Ethnic Studies after a prep career in College Park, Ga., where he was a SuperPrep All-Dixie team member.
