BOULDER- The 2012 University of Colorado volleyball season has officially begun as the student-athletes reported for preseason camp on Tuesday with a meeting at 5 p.m. The first practice is set for 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday.

"We are very excited to start practice today," CU coach Liz Kritza said. "This is a day we look forward to every year. It's an exciting time when we, the coaches, get to see how much work our athletes have done and what work we need to do before the start of the season."

CU's first match of the season is August 24 in Huntsville, Texas. The Buffs will play Texas Southern at 3 p.m. MT as part of the Sam Houston State Invitational. On August 25, they will play Louisiana-Lafayette at 9 a.m. and host SHSU at 6 p.m. The first home matches are the following weekend, August 31-September 1, when CU hosts Cornell, Northern Arizona and Fresno State as part of the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic at the Coors Events Center.
