BOULDER - Soccer's Madison Krauser (freshman) and football's Derrick Webb (junior) were awarded CU Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday for their play during the week of Aug. 27 - Sept. 2.  The athlete of the week is sponsored by Silk®, Horizon® and International Delight®.

Scoring her first goal as a Buff on Sunday against Northwestern, Madison Krauser put up the goal that helped Colorado tie the Wildcats 2-2 on the road in Evanston, Ill. Just minutes after senior captain Amy Barczuk put the Buffs on the board, the Irvine, Calif., (Woodbridge) native scored to tie the game. The Buffs remain undefeated in their first five games of the season (3-0-2), a first in the program's history.

In a 22-17 loss to Colorado State in Denver on Saturday, linebacker Derrick Webb had a career-high 12 tackles (nine solo) with five at or behind the line of scrimmage (three tackles for zero, two tackles for a loss with one being a quarterback sack). Webb also had two third-down stops in 53 plays. The 6-foot, 230-pound Memphis, Tenn., (Whitehaven) native entered Saturday's game already eighth in career special team points (60) and tackles (27).

Also nominated for this week's award: Courtney Bouchet (women's cross country), Nikki Lindow (volleyball) and Connor Winter (men's cross country).

Junior Courtney Bouchet placed second (best CU finisher) in the women's 5.8 kilometer race at CU's time trial on Saturday. Crossing the finish line in 22 minutes and four seconds, she was one of the five individuals to finish the race with that time.

Junior Nikki Lindow led CU with 2.90 kills per set and was the only Buff to be named to the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team as CU went 1-2 on the weekend. She also hit a team-best .302 with 29 kills and 10 errors on 63 attacks. Lindow posted a team-high 20 blocks (three solo, 17 assists) and 40.5 points in three matches. She recorded a team-high 15 kills, hit .419, and put up three block solos and six block assists in a four-set loss to Northern Arizona.

Redshirt freshman Connor Winter finished third overall in 26:14 in the men's 8K race at CU's time trial on Saturday morning. This was Winter's first cross country race for CU after redshirting during the 2011 season.
