BOULDER- Sophomore standouts Tyler Hansen (football) and Becah Fogle (volleyball) were named CU athletes of the week for the week of November 2- 8; this is the first career honor for both students.
Hansen, a Murrieta, Calif. (Chaparral) native, threw for 271 yards on 21-of-31 passes with one touchdown and one interception while leading the Buffs to a 35-34 win over Texas A&M on Saturday. He also netted 45 yards rushing on 20 attempts, he rushed for 105 yards on 12 attempts when excluding sacks for a true rushing picture, while earning 17 first downs (five rushing/12 passing), with seven of those coming on 3rd/4th down. This was the second 4th quarter comeback win of his career; he was 6-of-8 for 117 yards in the fourth quarter, including the game winning touchdown pass, a 22-yard strike to senior tight end Pat Devenny with 2:04 left in the game.
Fogle, a Leander, Texas (Vista Ridge) native, averaged 4.50 kills per set and 3.83 digs per set to lead the Buffs to a 1-1 week. She also hit .239 and added .50 blocks per set. She recorded 13 kills and eight digs in a three-set loss to Kansas and rebounded with 14 kills and 15 digs for her seventh career double-double of the year; both totals were match highs.
