CERRITOS, Calif. - University of Colorado freshman Brittany Lewis became the fourth best long jump performer in CU history after leaping 19 feet, 7 inches at the Beach Invitational on Saturday.

Lewis recorded the jump on her fifth attempt of the day. The mark was three inches further than her high school PR of 19-04 and is the best jump by a Buff since Amberly Casey in 2004.

Joe Morris placed first in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish in 20.77 to become the sixth fastest performer in CU history. Morris improved on his previous best by .13 seconds.

Several Buffs also competed in the 5,000-meter run late on Friday night at Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. Martin Medina ran a personal best in the 'C' section of the 5k, crossing the finish in 14:14.51 for fifth overall. Camille Logan crossed the finish with a PR of 16:14.24 in the women's 'A' section of the 5k; placing 12th. Jana Stolting was second in the 'C' section with a time of 16:38.54 and Rachel Viger took 21st in the 'B' section in 16:56.05.

The Buffs will be back in action on April 28 at Colorado State's Jack Christiansen Invite and some of the distance runners will compete at Stanford's Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on April 29.
