-Senior guard Chucky Jeffery did not play, she was suspended for the game for conduct detrimental to the team.
- Colorado’s 38 points allowed were its fewest in an exhibition since the Buffaloes beat Colorado Mines 58-31 in 2007. The 49-point margin was the most in an exhibition since the Buffaloes defeated Spartak Moscow 115-55 in 2002.
- At the end of the half the Buffs held Western State to an impressive 27.3% field goal percentage while taking over the game with a 65.5% field goal percentage themselves. The Buffs finished the half in dominant force as the score was 52-18. Freshman Kyleesha Weston scored 10 points to start off her career.
- Freshmen Arielle Roberson, Kyleesha Weston, and Jamee Swan saw significant time collectively. Together they scored 25 of Colorado’s 87 points. Roberson also saw her first career start.
- Colorado continues to keep the perfect exhibition game winning streak and improves their overall exhibition record to 23-0. This is the second meeting in exhibition games between the Mountaineers and Buffaloes. Prior to the 2010-2011 season, Colorado downed Western State 93-62.
- Four Buffs scored in double digits. Altogether, Colorado held Western State to only scoring 20 points each half.
Brittany Wilson led the team with 16 points.
Kyleesha Weston was second on the team with an outstanding 14 points in her very first collegiate game.
Arielle Roberson made her first start and appearance in a Buff jersey after coming off a redshirt freshman year injury. She scored 5 points and had 2 blocked shots.
Lexy Kresl handed out 5 assists and put up 11 points on the board.
