BOULDER - The throwback jerseys and helmets worn by the University of Colorado football team in their 24-0 victory over Wyoming are available for purchase now through the Locker Room, Online Store section for gamed used apparel and equipment

CU has made 100 of these available to the public for purchase at the price of $600.  The price covers the cost of the uniforms to the University.

The jersey is an updated replica by Nike of the gold jersey worn by CU in 1937, the year that Byron "Whizzer" White led the nation in rushing yards. White was a unanimous All-American after a brilliant 1937 season that saw him lead CU to an 8-0 record and a Cotton Bowl bid, CU's first-ever bowl game, as he set national records with 1,121 rushing yards and 122 points - marks which would stand until colleges went to 10- and 11- game schedules. White was a Rhodes Scholar, a two-time All-Pro halfback with Pittsburgh and Detroit, a leading graduate of the Yale Law School in 1946, a decorated naval intelligence officer in World War II and a deputy U.S. Attorney General in addition to his role on the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, the National Football Foundation's College Hall of Fame, the GTE Academic Hall of Fame, CU Athletic Hall of Fame (inaugural member) and was selected to CU's All-Century Team.

The helmet is a replica of the one worn by the 1956 team in the 1957 Orange Bowl, CU's first-ever bowl win, a thrilling 27-21 come-from-behind verdict over Clemson. That team was led by head coach Dallas "Dal" Ward, after whom the CU athletic department athletic center is named.  The helmet is silver with a set of black horns, one on each side of the front of the helmet.  It features a grey face mask.

This purchase includes an authentic game-worn jersey and helmet. The pants are currently not included, and are unavailable for purchase at this time. For more information, please email
