We're excited to tell you about a program, now in its fourth year, which highlights how middle school students make a difference in their communities. The program, developed by Qwest, FSN Rocky Mountain and the University of Colorado, emphasizes that having a "Winning Attitude" is about more than winning a game; it's about being a leader and taking initiative to make your community better, whether that community is a sports team, a classroom or a neighborhood. After three very successful years, we are excited to continue recognizing outstanding students who make a difference.
All Colorado middle school students are invited to submit an essay about how their Winning Attitudes have made a difference. Ten winning entrants and their classmates will win:
- A trip to a CU home football game at Folsom Field or CU home men's basketball game at the Coors Events Center
- Recognition at the CU game and receive a $1,000 contribution for their school from Qwest
- A chance to be selected as the GRAND PRIZE winner who will have the opportunity to host a pep rally, including an emcee from FSN Rocky Mountain, appearances by CU head coaches, student-athletes, cheerleaders and the CU pep band. The GRAND PRIZE winner will also receive an additional $2,500 contribution for their school from Qwest
Qwest, FSN Rocky Mountain and the University of Colorado are proud partners of this initiative. "Winning Attitude" is a great way for you to share stories about sportsmanship, teamwork, citizenship and community service.
