The Colorado Buffaloes (1-1, 0-0 Big 12) have their home opener this Saturday, September 15, christening the 84th season “on the hilltop” at Folsom Field in hosting the Florida State Seminoles (1-1, 0-1 ACC)... Kickoff is set for 8:10 p.m. MDT, with ESPN to televise the game nationally; Dan Fouts (play-byplay), Tim Brant (commentary) and Todd Harris (sidelines) will call the action... A sellout crowd of 53,750 is very possible for the contest, as CU has about 3,000 tickets remaining for the game (Florida State did return some)... This week marks the first of three straight Saturdays of football at Folsom Field; CU last played three straight home games in as many weekends in 1998 (Fresno State, Utah State and Baylor, going 3-0) and in 1995 (sweeping CSU, NE Louisiana and Texas A&M); it was much more common for the Buffs to have three straight home games prior to the formation of the Big 12 and the extra league game... Colorado is coming off a 33-14 loss at Arizona State, a game that featured the warmest kickoff temperature in CU history (102 degrees; it will at least 30 degrees cooler than that this Saturday); the Buffaloes worked to a 14-0 first quarter lead but couldn’t capitalize on great field position as ASU rallied for the win... There are about 9,000 seats remaining for the Miami-Ohio game on Sept. 22 and around 6,000 for Oklahoma on Sept. 29; the Miami game time is set for 1:30 p.m. mountain, with the Oklahoma start to be determined next Monday when the Big 12 television partners make their selections on the first weekend of the year where the networks can select either 12 or six days prior... CU’s website, features game day updates and live stats for all games.
