By: Lauren Lanier, Student SID

BOULDER - Women's basketball's Brittany Wilson and men's basketball's Andre Roberson received CU Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday for their athletic performances during the week of Dec. 3-9.  CU's Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Silk®, Horizon® and International Delight®.

Wilson, a junior from Long Beach, Calif., scored 13 points; including a team season-high 3-of-5 three-pointers to lead the women's basketball team to a 72-46 win over instate rival Colorado State.  The guard scored 10 of her points in the first half to help Colorado build a 20-point halftime lead.  Wilson also registered season-highs in field goals, 3-pointers and assists.  She was 4-of-8 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers, three rebounds and three assists in the first half alone as she played just six minutes in the second half.

Roberson, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, averaged 11.5 points and 12.5 rebounds with 2.5 steals, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 assists per game in the men's basketball team's 1-1 week.  Roberson recorded his Pac-12 Conference best fourth double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds in CU's 70-61 home win over Colorado State.  The forward's 29th career double-double (CU is 23-6 in those games) was supported with a team-best three steals and two blocks on 5-of-11 shooting from the field.

On Saturday against the No. 9 ranked Kansas Jayhawks, Roberson grabbed a game-high 11 boards to mark the 44th career game with double-digit rebounds.  He also led CU with two blocks and tied team honors with two steals.  In 83 career games, Roberson has grabbed seven or more rebounds 64 times.

This is Roberson's second and Wilson's first CU Athlete of the Week award of the season.
