NEW YORK - University of Colorado senior Emma Coburn has been selected to compete in the mile run at the prestigious Millrose Games on February 16 in New York.

Coburn, a 2011 indoor mile All-American and two-time USATF steeplechase champion, will be competing in a very talented field of athletes that includes Abbey D'Agostino (Dartmouth), who placed fifth in the 2012 Olympic Trials at 5000-meters, Jordan Hasay (University of Oregon), the 2011 NCAA indoor mile and 3000-meter champion, and high school sensation Mary Cain.

Among the professional women are Americans Ashley Higginson, Delilah DiCrescenzo, Kate Grace, Sarah (Bowman) Brown, Emily Infeld and Renée Tomlin, and Canadians Sheila Reid, Nicole Sifuentes and Hilary Stellingwerff.

The Crested Butte, Colo., native redshirted the 2012 season, but did race one mile run last summer during the outdoor season, finishing in 4:33.24. Coburn owns an indoor personal record of 4:36.08 which ranks second to Jenny (Barringer) Simpson's collegiate record of 4:25.91.

Coburn isn't the only athlete with CU connections who will be racing at the Millrose Games. Former standout and three-time Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein is entered in the two-mile run.

The 106th Millrose Games will be the second stop of the USA Track & Field's nationally televised 2013 Indoor USATF Championship series. The meet will be shown live on ESPN3 and again on ESPN at 8-10 p.m. ET.  For more information, go to www.millrose-games.org and www.usatf.org.
