BOULDER – University of Colorado redshirt-freshman Chris Jenkins has left the Buffaloes men’s basketball program, head coach Tad Boyle announced Monday.

Jenkins a 6’7”, 185-pound guard/forward from Detroit, Mich., sat out last season after being redshirted, had four years of eligibility remaining.

This past summer, Jenkins was a member of the Athletes In Action basketball team that traveled to Lithuania. He played in four of five games averaging 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 17.8 minutes, helping Team USA to 4-1 record.

The CU men’s basketball team opens the 2013-14 season this Friday against No. 25 Baylor at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Tip is 8 p.m. (MST) and will be televised on ROOT Sports.
