BOULDER – The University of Colorado women’s tennis team continues its three-match home stand this weekend taking on in-state rival Denver this Friday and Wichita State on Sunday. Both matches will be played at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center.

Admission and parking are free at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center, which is located behind the Millennium Hotel on 28th Street.

Friday’s match with the Pioneers begins at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s match against the Shockers begins at 10 a.m.

CU is coming off a 5-2 home win over Wyoming last week as Julyette Steur, Winde Janssens, Nuria Ormeño Ruiz,  and Dhany Quevedo all won in straight sets, while Alex Aiello rallied from a set down to win in three. Aiello leads the team in singles wins with a 17-3 record, followed by Ormeño Ruiz with a 14-6 mark, and Steur with an 11-5 record.

The Buffaloes are 4-1 at home this season, while DU (2-4) brings a No. 57 national ranking into the contest.

Colorado leads Denver in the all-time series, 28-9, however the Pioneers have won the last three in a row. The schools have played against one another every year since 2001 with DU holding a 7-6 edge. CU is 4-3 in matches played in Boulder.

On Sunday, CU will host Wichita State (6-2), who is the No. 54 ranked team in the nation. The Buffs lead the all-time series, 4-0 and have not played against the Shockers since 1997. WSU will be playing three Colorado schools in three days with matches against Northern Colorado (Friday), Denver (Saturday) and CU (Sunday).
