BOULDER – University of Colorado soccer forward Darcy Jerman was named CU’s Athlete of the Week on Thursday for her performance during the week of Aug. 18-24.

The senior had a solid performance during the Buffs opening weekend of competition, leading CU to a perfect 2-0 start, with victories over rival Colorado State and Northern Colorado. Jerman recorded her first goal of the season along with a combined six shots in two matches.  In Sunday’s match against Northern Colorado, Jerman knocked in the game winning goal after receiving the ball on a corner kick from teammate Kahlia Hogg. The Buffs went on to defeat the Bears 1-0 and remain undefeated against UNC with a perfect 8-0 record.

Also nominated for this week’s award was junior midfield Kahlia Hogg (soccer) and junior goalkeeper Kate Scheele (soccer).

Hogg and Scheele made their Colorado debut last Friday against Colorado State. Hogg had a combined three shots and one assist in her first two matches wearing black and gold. Scheele notched two shutouts to begin her Colorado career.
