The Dal Ward Athletic Center was built following the 1990 National Championship football season. Dal Ward boasts 92,000 square feet which includes academic, sports medicine and weight training centers; a full service kitchen and daily dining area; an auditorium; men's and women's locker rooms; a lounge; and offices for athletic administration and coaches.
The Dal Ward Athletic Center houses the Knowlton Sports Medicine Center. The Knowlton Sports Medicine Center is the main athletic training room at the University of Colorado. It services the needs of all student-athletes during the morning hours. In the afternoon, the training room primarily services football, soccer, tennis, skiing cross country/track & field, and the spirit squad. The training room is equipped with treatment tables, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation equipment, a SwimEx, a cold-therapy pool, an x-ray machine, and two doctor's offices. Doctors specializing in internal medicine and orthopedics visit the training room once a day to care for all athletes.
The Coors Events Center athletic training room services men's and women's basketball, volleyball and lacrosse. Two staff members oversee this area, working with four student interns yearly.
The recently renovated athletic training room is fully functional with the use of therapeutic modalities, whirlpools and exercise and rehabilitation equipment.
