AMES, Iowa (AP) _ Joel Klatt threw two touchdowns passes and Brian Calhoun ran for two more scores in Colorado's 44-10 victory over Iowa State on Saturday.

Klatt, 21-for-27 for 288 yards, threw a 42-yard scoring pass to D.J. Hackett and a 20-yarder to John Donahoe.

Calhoun, who scored on two 4-yard runs, had 73 yards rushing and caught two passes for 58 yards. The two touchdowns marked the first multiple touchdown game for the sophomore, who went over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for his career with 1,059.

Colorado (5-6, 3-4 Big 12) led 37-0 at halftime and held the Cyclones (2-8, 0-6) to 1 net yard until late in the half when Waye Terry completed three passes for 27 yards and ran for 2 to give Iowa State 30 yards.

Iowa State scored early in the second half after the Buffaloes punted and then were called for interference on the receiver, bringing the ball to the Colorado 38. Seven plays later, Adam Benike kicked a 31-yard field goal.

A 49-yard pass from Klatt to Calhoun on the next series set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Lawrence Vickers for Colorado's final score with 6:36 left in the third quarter, giving the Buffaloes a 44-3 lead, the first time Colorado had more than a 14-point lead this season.

Terry, who finished 16-for-40 and 121 yards, hit Jamaul Montgomery with a 28-yard pass for the Cyclones' only touchdown on the first series of the fourth quarter. Montgomery led Iowa State with 64 yards on five catches.

Another score was called back because of a penalty for too many players on the field.

Terry led the Cyclones with 72 yards rushing in 13 attempts, mostly on scrambles in the second half. Stevie Hicks gained 56 yards on 15 carries.
