Welcome to Buffaloes Summer Break where CUBuffs.com catches up with Colorado student-athletes and coaching staff members throughout the summer "off season."

Today's installment comes from senior multi-events standout Brianne Beemer. A native of Loveland, Colo., Beemer had an outstanding junior season for the Buffaloes, scoring at both the Pac-12 Conference (Outdoor) Championships and Mountain Pacific States Federation (Indoor) meets. She placed third in the pentathlon at the MPSF Championships with 3,771 points and then followed that score up with a personal best 3,960 as she placed sixth at the USA Indoor meet. Beemer was fourth in the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Championships with a career-best 5,339 points.

What is your favorite summer time activity?
A game my friends and I invented called Frislo involving pools and a Frisbee!

Favorite vacation destination and why?
Silverton, Colorado, is my favorite summer destination because I camp, fish, and jeep in the wilderness.

What was your first summer job?
My first summer job was raising market lambs for the Larimer County Fair. I would take care of the sheep all summer and then sell them, saving the money for college.

What was your most memorable summer job experience?
Working as a food runner in Aspen confirmed that I enjoy learning and that college is vital.†

What is the most important activity you engage in during the summer months that helps prepare you for the next season?
Yoga helps me prepare for the next season on multiple levels. I gain flexibility, mental clarity and am constantly challenged.††

If they offered a class in ___________ at Colorado during the summer I would surely get an A+
Activities-How many events can you attend in the summer

What is your favorite moment here at Colorado so far?
It is hard to narrow it down to just one moment. It is a tie between seeing Ralphie rush the field before a football game and running to the top of Folsom (Field) during a workout and seeing the sun setting behind the Flatirons. Both remind me of what it truly means to be a Buffalo.

The thing that surprised you the most about the move from the Big 12 to the Pac-12 Conferences is:
How well CU fits in with all the schools in the Pac-12 in academics, athletics and friendliness.

Best advice for youth that are beginning to compete in athletics.
Dream big and work even harder.

If you could play a single game/event for a CU team that is not your sport, which would it be and why?
I would tie-up the laces and hit the hardwood with the CU women’s basketball team!

If you could bring one famous person to Colorado for a day-long tour who would it be, and what would you do with them?
I would take Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons in character) tubing down the Boulder Creek, followed by lunch on Pearl, a game of Frislo and finally dancing at Band on the Bricks. We would only use bicycles as transportation and I am certain it would drive him crazy but provide me with plenty of entertainment.†
