AT FORT LEWIS (2008/Fr.)-He played linebacker and defensive end at Fort Lewis (Durango, Colo.), lettering for coach Ed Rifilato. He saw action in seven games for the Skyhawks, posting six tackles (four solo, one quarterback sack) with two hurries.
HIGH SCHOOL-He earned second-team All-Metro Conference honors as a senior (honorable mention as a junior) playing both linebacker and defensive end; he was a two-year starter. As a senior, he was in on 85 tackles, 25 for losses including 10 quarterback sacks, with five forced fumbles and five passes broken up. He was in on 60 tackles his junior year, with 15 behind the line of scrimmage (four sacks), with two fumble recoveries and a pair of PBU's. Englewood was 10-2 his senior season, 5-5 his junior year and 11-1 his sophomore campaign under coach Randy Penn.
ACADEMICS-He is majoring in Sociology at Colorado.
PERSONAL-He was born June 30, 1989 in Long Island, N.Y. His hobbies include reading and writing; an accomplished boxer (two years of Golden Glove competition, including finishing as a runner-up as a high school senior), he gave it up to pursue football. The first to go to college in his family, he's quite the entrepreneur; he was an independent car salesman during high school and is an avid writer who plans to one day have a book published.
