BOULDER - Women's basketball forward Arielle Roberson and men's basketball guard Spencer Dinwiddie were honored on Tuesday with the CU Athlete of the Week award for their performances during the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2.  CU's Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Silk®, Horizon® and International Delight®.

The freshman Roberson scored a career-high and a team season-high 25 points, with a key late 3-point basket to lead the women's basketball team to a 69-62 road win against Illinois on Saturday.  She went 7-of-8 from the field and shot a season high 10-of-14 free throws.  She also had five rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Her 25 points marked her sixth straight double figure scoring performance to begin her career, tied for second best in team history.  The San Antonio, Texas native also scored 14 points in the victory over Wyoming, going 6-for-10 from the field on Nov. 28.  The Buffs have now won 19 straight regular season non-conference games.

Dinwiddie averaged 24 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists with one block and one steal during the men's basketball's 1-1 week.  The nationally ranked Buffaloes defeated Texas Southern 85-80 at home in double-overtime on Nov. 27, before falling 76-69 at Wyoming on Saturday.  The sophomore tallied a career-best 24 points in each game, leading CU in scoring in both contests and becoming the first Buff player since the 2010-11 season to lead the team in scoring with consecutive 20 or more points scored in a game.

The Woodland Hills, Calif., native, tallied career-highs in field goals made (8) and attempts (14) against the Cowboys, in addition to a season-best four 3-pointers and four assists.  Against Texas Southern, Dinwiddie played a team-high 43 minutes, converting 16-of-18 free throws and tying a career-best with two blocks.  Dinwiddie leads the Buffs in scoring with 16.1 points per game and three-pointers made (14).

This is Roberson's second Athlete of the Week award of the season, and second in as many weeks, while this is Dinwiddie's first honor of the 2012-13 campaign.
