BOULDER Ė University of Colorado women’s basketball associate head coach Jonas Chatterton has resigned his position to take an assistant coach role at Oregon State University, head coach Linda Lappe announced on Tuesday.

Chatterton replaces former OSU associate head coach Mark Campbell, who took the same job at rival University of Oregon, under new head coach Kelly Graves.

He was one of Lappe’s assistants on her first staff at Colorado for the 2010-11 season. Last August, Chatterton was promoted to the role of associate head coach.

“I would like to thank the University of Colorado community,” Chatterton said. “It has been a pleasure coaching such a talented group of young women. My family and I have truly enjoyed our time in Colorado and the relationships we have been fortunate to create."

In his four seasons on Lappe’s staff, Colorado enjoyed a record of 83-52 (.615) with a pair of 20-win seasons. Colorado advanced the postseason in all four campaigns including the 2013 NCAA Tournament; the program’s first in nine years. †The Buffaloes were nationally ranked for large chunks of the last two seasons, residing in the Associated Press Top 25 for 25 straight weeks from Dec. 17, 2012 to Jan. 13, 2014.

Prior to joining Colorado, Chatterton spent eight highly successful seasons as an assistant women's basketball coach at BYU under Jeff Judkins (2001-09). During his eight years in Provo, the Cougars compiled a record of 157-89 (.638), won two Mountain West Conference regular season titles (2006-07), one MWC Tournament crown (2002) and participated in five postseason tournaments, including four NCAA Championships (2003-03, 2006-07).

“We would like to thank Jonas for his contributions to our program over the last four seasons,” Lappe said. “We wish him the best of luck in Corvallis.”
