BUFFS IN OPENERS- Colorado is 34-5 (.872) all-time in season openers. They started the 2012-13 season with a home game for the 27th time in 39 seasons. Colorado is an outstanding 37-2 (.948)all-time in home openers. Colorado has never lost its overall season opener when played at home (27-0).

The five-point margin is the closest in a CU opener since the Buffs defeated UC Irvine, 61-56, on Nov. 16, 2009.

Colorado has won all three meetings against Idaho, all have been played in Boulder.

  • First steal- Ashley Wilson (13:12)
  • First rebound (defensive)- Lexy Kresl
  • First rebound (offensive)- Rachel Hargis
  • First blocked shot- Arielle Roberson
  • First made free-throw- Rachel Hargis

Arielle Roberson made her CU debut netting 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting with five steals, two blocks and two assists. Her five steals are the most by a freshman in her first game since Brittany Spears also had five at San Francisco in 2007.

Lexy Kresl has made a three-point basket in 32 of 36 career games. 19th career game with 2 or more three-pointers. Kresl also moved into a tie with Veronica Johns-Richardson (2001-05) for 15th on CU’s career list for 3-pointers made with 65.

Brittany Wilson set a career-high with eight free throws made and also tied her personal best with eight attempts, which she has done on two other occasions. Her previous best for free throws made was six, done twice last season. Her 8-for-8 performance is also her best without a miss.

Wilson led CU in scoring with 18 points. She was also the team’s top scorer in last year’s opener where she had a career-best 22 against Northern Arizona.
