BOULDER Seven University of Colorado soccer contests will be televised by the new Pac-12 Networks in 2012, highlighting the schedule released on Monday by first year head coach Danny Sanchez.

Nine regular season home dates dot the Colorado slate, including the Omni Hotels Soccer Classic and a match up with the defending NCAA champions.

The Buffaloes will host an Alumni game on Saturday, Aug. 11, before officially kicking off the 2012 season with the second annual Colorado Cup, involving Denver, Colorado College and Northern Colorado. Colorado will play at Northern Colorado on Friday, Aug. 17 in Greeley, Colo., and then at Colorado College on Sunday, Aug. 19, in Colorado Springs.

Colorado will welcome Denver, Wright State and LIU Brooklyn to Boulder for the Omni Hotels Colorado Women’s Soccer Classic, Aug. 24 & 26. On Friday, Wright State will face Denver in the first game at 1:30 p.m., followed by CU vs. LIU Brooklyn at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Denver will take on LIU at 11 a.m., while the Buffaloes host Wright State at 1:30 p.m.

Following the Omni Hotels Classic, the Buffaloes play four straight away from home, starting with matches at Northwestern on Sunday, Sept. 2, and a pair at the DU Invitational. CU plays Denver on Friday, Sept. 7, and Cincinnati on Sunday, Sept. 9. Colorado ends that stretch at Wyoming on Friday, Sept. 14, a homecoming for coach Sanchez and his staff, who came to the Buffaloes from Laramie this past offseason.

Colorado plays its final regular season nonconference contest on Sunday, Sept. 16, as the Buffaloes host Air Force at 1 p.m., in CU’s first of seven matches scheduled for the Pac-12 Networks.

CU’s first three conference contests are scheduled for the Pac-12 Networks, debuting at Oregon on Friday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m.. The Buffaloes return home for five straight, beginning with Pac-12 Network games against Washington (Friday, Sept. 28, 3 p.m.) and Washington State (Sunday, Sept. 30, 2:30 p.m.). Colorado will host California on Friday, Oct. 5, NCAA Champion Stanford on Sunday, Oct. 7, and Oregon State on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The Buffaloes then play four straight road contests. CU travels to the Los Angeles schools on Friday, Oct. 19 (UCLA) and Sunday, Oct. 21 (USC). Colorado’s games at the Arizona schools will be broadcast by the Pac-12 Networks. The Buffaloes are at Arizona on Friday, Oct. 26, and at Arizona State on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Colorado closes the regular season at home with a Pac-12 Networks televised game against Utah on Friday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m.

In its inaugural season, the Pac-12 Networks will televise 58 Pac-12 women’s soccer matches; just a portion of 217 live events including football, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s water polo, field hockey and cross country telecast over 100 days this fall, putting the Conference of Champions on a national stage.

The Pac-12 Networks launch August 15 and will consist of one national and six regional networks, including a Mountain Network, devoted solely to the Pac-12. In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to their carrier’s TV Everywhere platform, providing access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service.
