Lewis Wins Glenn Morris Heptathlon

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - University of Colorado freshman Brittany Lewis won the heptathlon at the Glenn Morris Combined Events meet on Friday with 4,977 points.

Lewis moved up from second on the first day of competition to first; moving past the day-one leader, Wyoming's Jenna Mann, who finished second overall with 4,720 points. She currently ranks ninth on the Pac-12 performance list.

Lewis had a strong second day. She jumped 18 feet, 8 inches in the long jump and recorded a throw of 98-05 in the javelin. Lewis finished the day running a personal best time of 2:20.55 in the 800-meter run.

Part of the CU team will compete on Saturday at the Jack Christiansen Invite at Colorado State, while some of CU's distance runners will compete on Sunday at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invite at Stanford University.
