Fort Collins, Colo. - Freshman Eileen Gehring sprinted to a pair of first-place finishes at the Fum McGraw Quadrangular to lead the University of Colorado track and field team on Saturday afternoon.

Gehring won the 200 and 400-meter dashes. She clocked a time of 24.39 seconds in the 200, which tied the 12th fastest time in school history and is the fastest time run by a Buff since 2001. Gehring is currently the eighth fastest 200 performer in CU history. She also broke the tape in the 400 with a time of 55.28, tying for sixth on the all-time performers list.

The Buffs had a pair of freshmen win the high jump as Kelsey English and Mark Jones took top honors in the event. English cleared 5 feet, 10 inches and became the first Buff since 1993 to reach 5-10 or higher. English jumped an inch higher than her previous personal best of 5-9. Jones won the men's high jump at 6-09, tying his mark from the Potts Invitational two weeks ago. Senior Jake Timmons tied for second with a mark of 6-05.

CU also won the men's and women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Jonny Stevens finished the race in 9:26.91, a season best. Diana George took the women's crown, crossing the finish in a personal record time of 11:08.99. In doing so, she finished almost a minute faster than her previous time of 12:02.55. Teammate Courtney Bouchet finished second with a time of 11:19.11.

The Buffs will be back in action April 6-7 at the Stanford Invitational (Stanford, Calif.) and April 7 at the Air Force Invitational (U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo.).
