PULLMAN, Wash. - University of Colorado sophomore Kristina Schleich earned the lone team point, Friday afternoon as the Buffaloes dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 44 Washington State at the Simmelink Tennis Courts.

The Cougars improved to 14-5 overall and evened their conference mark at 3-3, while the Buffs drop to 7-9 and remain winless in Pac-12 play at 0-5. All five losses in the Pac-12 have occurred against nationally ranked opponents.

The loss is CU's 20th straight regular season conference setback dating back to 2010. CU continues to lead the series against Washington State holding a 2-1 edge with the other victories coming in 2005 and 2006.

Friday was CU's first conference road match of the season after hosting its four at home. The Buffs are wrapping up the conference portion of the schedule on the road with a school-record six consecutive road matches to end the regular season. In 1998, the Buffs ended the season with five straight.

Schleich's win was her fifth career match from rallying from a set down to achieve victory and improved her three-set record to 4-1. She rallied to defeat WSU's No. 48 ranked Liudmila Vasilieva, 6-7(1), 6-4, 6-4 at the top singles position. It was the highest victory for Schleich over a ranked opponent in her young career.

Overall, Schleich has won a team-best 16th win and her eighth of the spring. Her eight wins during dual play rank third on the team behind freshman Julyette Steur and sophomore Carla Manzi Tenorio, each with nine

CU continues the six-match road trip heading back to the Pacific Northwest next Friday, April 6 at No. 48 Washington.
