COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Another cold and windy day forced day two of the United States Air Force Academy Invitational to be moved indoors moving all singles and doubles matches to be played on only four courts Saturday.

In Saturday morning's doubles results, CU achieved a runner up placing, in addition to a third place and 10th place tally.

Julyette Steur and Mazy Watrous fell in their Alpha Doubles semifinal to Cecil and Dake of Air Force, 8-3, then rallied back to claim third place honors defeating Denver's Bergner/Rath, 8-4. In the Charlie Doubles semifinals, CU's Carla Manzi Tenorio and Erin Sanders made it two-for-two against DU in doubles matches, edging Isberg and Garpenlov, 8-5. However, in the finals, Air Force got the best of the Buffs as Tran/Meyers defeated Manzi Tenorio/Sanders, 8-5.

In the consolation doubles matches, Molina and Rizvi  of Air Force defeated Winde Janssens and Ashley Tiefel, 8-1 in the Bravo Doubles ninth place match, and in the Charlie Doubles, the CU walk-on pair of junior Marrie Sperry and freshman Laura Wegleitner easily defeated Northern Colorado's Henning and Schumacher, 8-2 for their first collegiate win as a doubles tandem. They would later fall to Oregon's Stueckemann/Macomson in a close 8-6 decision.

Teams represented at the AFA Invitational are the host Falcons, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, Eastern Michigan, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Illinois, South Dakota State, Texas Tech, Oregon and Washington State.

In a correction from Friday evening, junior walk-on Mattie Sperry won her singles match after receiving a first round bye in the "Golf" Bracket as did her opponent. The Greeley, Colo. native then defeated Brooke Henry of San Diego State, 7-5, 6-1 and advanced to the semifinals in her first career collegiate tennis event.

At press time Saturday evening only two of CU's three singles were completed. In the Round of 8 Bravo Singles, Steur won her opening set, however, lost to Washington State's Andjela Kankaras, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0(8).

Watrous also fell in her Round of 8 match in the Charlie Singles match to Eastern Michigan's Nino Mebuke, 7-6(1), 6-4.
