LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The University of Colorado women's tennis team finished consolation play with two singles and one doubles wins at the 2012 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Region Championships hosted by UNLV.

In earlier Saturday play, the doubles tandem of senior Erin Sanders and junior Carla Manzi Tenorio edged Hoolahan and Walters-West from Northern Colorado, 9-7. It was the only doubles match for CU in the consolation backdraw on Saturday. Sanders/Manzi Tenorio end the 2012 fall season with a 4-2 record.

The four wins are the most by a CU doubles team after three fall invitational spanning the last two months.

In singles, the Buffaloes earned a 2-2 record in consolation backdraw matches.

Sophomore Ashley Tiefel picked up her third win of the fall season defeating Adriana Wojakowska (Colorado State) 6-3, 6-1.

Junior Carla Manzi Tenorio also earned her third win of the fall defeating Amber Stuhlmann (Utah State) 6-0, 6-2. After starting the season with two straight losses, Manzi Tenorio has now won three of her last five matches.

Manzi Tenorio and Tiefel are tied for second on the team in singles victories with three each. Second semester freshman Julyette Steur leads the Buffs with four wins.

CU concludes the 2012 fall season for the calendar year and begins 2013 at the Long Beach State Invitational, Jan. 18-20 before spring play officially begins at Air Force, Jan. 27. The Buffaloes first home match will be at the Millennium Hotel Harvest House bubble taking on Stephen F. Austin (Saturday, Feb. 2, 11 a.m.) and Northern Colorado (Sunday, Feb. 3, 10 a.m.).
