BOULDER – University of Colorado men’s skier Andreas Haug was named Third Team on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Division I At-Large Team.

Haug, a sophomore Business major, has a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.  At the 2012 NCAA Championships, he was given the Elite 89 Award for skiing, given to the student-athlete competing at the NCAA Championships with the highest cumulative GPA.

He was also named a Division I All-Academic Ski Team Member, for maintaining above a 3.5 GPA, and to the District VII First-Team.

His freshman season, he was named the RMISA Alpine MVP for his regular season performance and was an integral part in helping the Buffs win their 18th national championship.

This season, Haug finished 12 of 14 races with four top 10 performances. This includes a fourth place finish in the giant slalom at CU’s Spencer Nelson Memorial Invitational and hit the podium as well in the GS race for the RMISA Championships. Most recently, he finished 13th in the slalom and 20th in the giant slalom, helping the Buffs win third place at the 2012 NCAA Championships.
