BOULDER - Basketball sophomores Jen Reese and Spencer Dinwiddie earned CU Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday for their performances during the week of Dec. 17-23.  CU's Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Silk®, Horizon® and International Delight®.

Reese had a career-high 16 points to help the now No. 23 women's basketball program to its 700th win all-time; coming in a 81-45 victory against Utah Valley University on Saturday.

The previous high in a game for the forward from Clackamas, Ore., was 15 points, which she achieved on two other occasions with the most recent being at Illinois on Dec. 1 of this season.

The women's basketball team is now 10-0 this year, marking the fourth time in school history that the squad has started the season with that mark. The Buffs have now won 23 straight and 30 of their last 34 non-conference regular season games dating back to the 2010-11 season.

Dinwiddie played only 12 minutes in the first half but scored nine of his 15 points and had a team-high five rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead the men's basketball team to a 57-21 halftime lead and eventually to a 98-51 rout of Northern Arizona on Friday.  The guard finished the night with 16 minutes played and six rebounds, five assists and shot 66.7 percent from the field (6-of-9).

The Woodland Hills, Calif., native was recently named to the watch list for the Bob Cousy Award; given annually to the nation's top point guard.

The NAU contest was CU's lone game of week and the first game for the Buffs in nine days.  Colorado is now 9-2 this season, which is their best start since beginning 9-2 in 1994-95.

This is Reese's first and Dinwiddie's second CU Athlete of the Week award of the 2012-13 campaign.
