AT COLORADO: This Season (Fr.-RS)—He enters the fall listed third at placekicker, and might also get a crack at punting.  He joined the team as a walk-on over the winter participated in spring drills; he made both his PAT kicks in main spring scrimmage action.

2007 (Fr.)—Enrolled as a student at CU and took classes but was not on the team.

HIGH SCHOOL—A team co-captain as a senior (the first kicker ever bestowed the honor at Northwood), when he earned honorable mention All-League honors and was the team’s most valuable player on special teams for the second straight year.  He garnered All-City honors as a junior after joining the varsity late in his sophomore season.  He set or tied seven school records as the varsity kicker, as he was Northwood’s leading scorer two years running (his junior and senior years), totaling 105 points, making 14-of-18 field goals and 63-of-67 PAT kicks.  He also had 99 kickoffs, 37 going for touchbacks, and punted 54 times (no blocks), averaging 40 yards per punt (long of 55) with six inside-the-20.  Northwood was 2-8 his senior year, 12-2 his junior season (reaching the CIF Division 9 title game) and 6-4 his sophomore year under coach Rick Curtis.  He was named the special teams MVP as a freshman and sophomore on the freshman and junior varsity teams, respectively.  He also participated in track (sprints).

ACADEMICS—He is majoring in English at Colorado.  He was a Scholar Athlete at Northwood High School, maintaining a 3.5 grade point average.

PERSONAL—He was born on January 23, 1989 in Fullerton, Calif.  His hobbies include racquetball, weight-lifting, video games and playing guitar; he played nine years of soccer before taking up football.  He is an active member of Colorado’s Christian Fraternity, Alpha Gamma Omega.  Father (Mike) is a retired Naval Reserve Captain and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, while his mother (Shelley) is a licensed cosmetologist.  His older sister, Jeananne, is a media buyer in New York City and a graduate of NYU.  He is interested in pursuing a career in law after college.  As a prep, he received instruction in kicking and punting from such notables as Ray Guy, Chris Sailer and Brad Bohn.
