LINCOLN, Neb. – No. 4 Nebraska hit .368 as a team, handing Colorado its fourth-straight Big 12 Conference setback 31-29, 30-12, 30-23, Wednesday evening at the Nebraska Coliseum.
The Buffaloes fall to 10-9 overall, 5-7 in league play, marking their first four-match losing streak since the final match of 2001 and the first three of 2002. Colorado hadn’t lost four-straight in the same season since 1995. Nebraska remains perfect in Big 12 action at 12-0 and is 18-1 overall.
Nebraska sophomore Dani Mancuso led all players with 18 kills and hit .424. The Huskers had 56 kills on 117 attacks with just 13 errors, marking the second-straight match a CU opponent has hit .350 or above.
Colorado managed to hit just .110 in the match with 36 kills on 109 attacks and 24 errors. Junior right side hitter Allie Griffin had a team high 12 kills and was the only one to reach double-digits.
Nebraska, the top blocking team in the Big 12, had 10.5 team blocks which contributed to CU’s overall hitting percentage.
Junior outside Nicole Carr had a team-best 10 digs for the Buffaloes. Junior Maragda Santillana had eight kills and five digs.
CU returns home to face Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. MDT in the Coors Events Conference Center.
