November 09, 2016 | Soccer
BOULDER - No. 20 Colorado will host Oklahoma State on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff is set for noon at Prentup Field. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $3 for CU students (with their ID) and children 12-and-under.
It is the ninth trip to the postseason in school history for the Buffaloes, including their third in the past four seasons under fifth-year head coach Danny Sanchez. Sanchez has a history of success in the NCAA Tournament, going 3-2-0 in his two trips with the Buffs and winning two national championships with a 17-2-3 NCAA Tournament record in six seasons at NCAA Division II Metro State in Denver.
Oklahoma State brings a 9-8-3 record into Boulder on Saturday after finishing 3-4-1 in the Big 12. The Cowgirls are led by Courtney Dike, who leads the team in goals (9), assists (7) and points (25). Head coach Colin Carmichael has been a part of the program since its inception in 1996, the same year CU began its soccer program, and is in his 12th year as the head coach.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools since CU left the Big 12 after the 2010 season. The Buffs are 9-4-3 all-time against OSU, including 6-0-2 in Boulder.
