Buffs Climb To No. 18 In AP Poll
December 05, 2016 | Women's Basketball
NEW YORK - Colorado's women's basketball team climbed three more spots to No. 18 in the latest Associated Press top-25 poll on Monday. CU was ranked No. 21 last week, the first national ranking for the Buffs since 2014.
The Buffs are currently 8-0 this season under first-year head coach JR Payne after finishing 7-23 a year ago. It is the earliest in school history they have eclipsed their previous season's win total.
Colorado is coming off perhaps its two most dominant wins last week. CU defeated Southeastern Louisiana 112-54 on Wednesday before an 85-56 victory against Idaho State on Saturday.
The Buffs will host Colorado State (5-3) at 7 p.m. on Thursday. That game will be televised on Pac-12 Mountain. Fans are encouraged to wear black on Thursday and the first 150 students will receive a free t-shirt and early-arriving students will also receive free Half Fast subs.
