Volleyball Team To Train At USOTC

BOULDER—The University of Colorado volleyball team is in the middle of its preseason training camp and will soon head south to Colorado Springs, Colo., for its annual training at the United States Olympic Training Center from August 14-18.

The USOTC in Colorado Springs is the headquarters for the U.S. Olympic Committee administration and the Olympic Training Center programs. As of August 1998, there are 12 USOC member organizations that have their national headquarters on the complex, and 12 other member organizations and two international sports federations located nearby in Colorado Springs, including USA Volleyball.

The Buffs will return to campus on August 18 and will have an intrasquad scrimmage at the Coors Events Center on August 20 at 3 p.m.

The season officially starts August 26-27 at the Portland State Tournament. The Buffs open the home portion of the season on Sept. 3 when they host No. 9 Penn State on the first day of the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge.

Single match tickets for most contests start at just $5 for general admission and $8 for reserved seating. Tickets for the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge (Sept. 3-4), as well as the second day of the Omni Invitational (Sept. 17), will start at $8 for general admission and $12 for reserved seats. Kids 12 and under are still free.
