KAILUA KONA, Hawai'i – The No. 11 University of Colorado women's golf team is tied for fourth place after the first 36 holes of the 2017 Pac-12 Preview at the 6,372-yard, par 73 Nanea Golf Club.

California takes the third spot with a 294-298—592 scorecard while Washington and Colorado are tied for fourth at 9-over par 593.
"We had a rough first round, it seemed like we couldn't adjust to the speed of the greens very well." said head coach Anne Kelly. "They're a little bit slower than what we have been playing on and honestly we made some sloppy mistakes and just didn't adjust very well. But, we did come back in the second round and the team played very solid."
Sophomore Robyn Choi paced the Buffs with a 145 or 1-under par through the first 36 holes. She shot a 2-over par in the first round, highlighted by three birdies on her front nine. In the second round, Choi settled in nicely and shaved five strokes off her first round scorecard. She carded a 3-under par 70 while recording three birdies and 15 pars. The sophomore sits tied for seventh place heading into the final round.
Three strokes behind Choi is sophomore Kirsty Hodgkins who shot a 2-over par 148 and sits tied for 15th place. In the first round, Hodgkins recorded three bogeys against one birdie to finish at 2-over par 75. Improving by two strokes in the second round she recorded two birdies to off set her two bogeys to finish at even par 73.
Senior Brittany Fan moved up nine spots and is tied for 19th after two rounds with a scorecard of 76-73—149. In her first round Fan started off strong with a birdie on her first hole No. 13 but went on to card five bogeys to finish at 3-over 76. Although Fan's second round was more up and down with a double, three bogeys and five birdies she shaved three strokes off to finish at even par 73.
Freshman Alisha Lau struggled a little in her first round as she recorded a 4-over 77. Starting on hole No. 14, Lau fired out three bogeys in a row but rebounded with a birdie. She would go on to record a total of three birdies against seven bogeys. Just like the rest of the team Lau shaved off three strokes from her first round to finish at 1-over par 74 and sits tied for 31st place.
Gillian Vance finished the day at 9-over par (80-75—155) and tied for 44th place. Vance went 7-over par in the first round but improved carding a 2-over par in the second.
Andrea Lee of Stanford sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 9-under 137 scorecard. Three UCLA golfers hold the next three spots as Lilia Vu sits in second at 7-under par 139, Patty Tavatanakit is in fourth place at 5-under while Bethany Wu is in fourth at 4-under par. Shannon Aubert of Stanford and Mariel Galdiano of UCLA are tied for fifth at 2-under par 144.
"It's all a big learning experience especially for Alisha who has never played in Hawaii," Kelly said. "But this team is very competitive and I think will be ready to go tomorrow and see what kind of come back we can make."
The tournament continues tomorrow with the final round.
