Jank Named Pac-12 Freshman Of The Week
November 20, 2017 | Women's Basketball
SAN FRANCISCO – Colorado women's basketball player Annika Jank was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Monday. It is the seventh conference freshman of the week for the Buffs since joining the league in 2011-12, but Jank is just the third CU athlete to earn it (Arielle Roberson won it five times in 2012-13 and Kennedy Leonard once in 2015-16).
Jank, a 6-foot-3 forward from Edina, Minn., averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two Buffs wins last week. She had 11 points and six rebounds in a win over Florida Atlantic on Wednesday. She then led CU to a win over No. 24 Miami on Saturday with 14 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first points-rebounds double-double for a CU freshman since 2013 and her 12 rebounds were also the most for a CU freshman since 2013.
Colorado will host Mississippi Valley State at 12 p.m. on Friday in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Hoops Classic at the Coors Events Center.
