Associate Head Coach Lee Maes

July 17, 2017 | Volleyball
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — University of Colorado volleyball associate head coach Lee Maes will once again spend time coaching in the USA Volleyball ranks this summer, serving as an assistant coach for the USAV Youth A1 National Team.
Â
"I have had the wonderful fortune of serving USA Volleyball for over 20 years," Maes said. "It's an honor and privilege to work with some of the best coaches and athletes our country produces. To develop young talent and assist them in their pursuit of Olympic and International aspirations is a humbling and cherished opportunity. Throughout the years, the chance to coach with our USA national team and high performance programs has provided me insight and immersion to elite training methods. That experience offers our program at Colorado a rare connection and understanding of how we can and will train our players in preparation for opportunities with USA Volleyball."
Â
The team will compete at the High Performance Championships, one of USA Volleyball's flagship events, July 18-22, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 100+ team event features tournaments for both boys and girls that include teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams, International teams and teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline. Past International teams have included: Brazil, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and Puerto Rico.
Â
Training for the program will run July 13-17, also in Fort Lauderdale.
Â
Maes, who was promoted to associate head coach for the Buffs this past spring, most recently served as the head coach of the USAV Women's Junior Continental Team last summer.
