SENIOR (2016): Bruder made her only season in Boulder count, helping Colorado to the NCAA Tournament and a second-place finish in the Pac-12. She started 20 of 22 matches at forward, scoring four goals and adding four assists for 12 points, while attempting 48 shots and 25 on goals. She also had three game-winning goals. After battling an ankle injury early in the season, she caught fire in mid-September. She earned an assist in CU’s 3-1 win over Hawai’i on Sept. 9. Two days later, she scored two goals in a 4-1 win over Iowa. Moving into Pac-12 play, she scored in a 3-1 win over Oregon and then had an assist in a 3-0 victory against Oregon State three days later. Bruder assisted on a goal by Danica Evans in a 3-2 overtime win at No. 10 California on Oct. 23 and then scored the lone goal of a 1-0 upset of No. 9 UCLA at home, a strike from the top of the box in the 50th minute. She also tallied an assist in CU’s win over Oklahoma State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. In Pac-12 play, she was tied for third on the team in points (six), goals (two) and assists (two) in 11 matches.

JUNIOR (2015 AT NORTH CAROLINA): Bruder played in all 21 matches as a reserve, scoring two goals and adding an assist, while attempting 15 shots (six on goal). She helped the Tar Heels to a 15-5-1 record, including 7-3-0 in the ACC. She scored goals in a 7-0 win over Fresno State on Aug. 23 and in a 3-0 win over Nebraska on Sept. 11. She had an assist in a 2-1 loss to Louisville on Oct. 8.
 
SOPHOMORE (2014 AT NORTH CAROLINA): She was named third-team all-ACC after leading the Tar Heels in goals with five and finishing second with 12 points as she added two assists. She started the final 10 matches of the season and appeared in 19 overall. She scored her first two career goals in a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh and had two more goals in a 3-0 win over Duke, netting the first two scores of that contest. Her final goal came in a 3-0 win over Miami (Fla.). Bruder assisted on goals against Notre Dame and South Dakota State.
 
FRESHMAN (2013 AT NORTH CAROLINA): Bruder played in 13 matches and started twice at forward, while attempting 12 shots. She started against Notre Dame and Boston College.
 
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE: She was a member of the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team player pool and started the 2013 year as a member of the U-18 WNT before moving up to the U-20 level. She had 16 caps with the U-18 team in 2013, scoring four goals. As a member of the U-17 WNT in 2012, she was a member of the U-17 World Cup team that competed in Azerbaijan and the 2012 CONCACAF winning team, while playing with the squad at La Manga Cup in Spain and on its Eastern European Tour. Her first national team experience was as a member of the U-14 National ID pool.
 
ODP: Bruder was a member of the Region IV ODP Team for four years between 2008-12. She was also a team captain for the ’95 Utah State Team from 2008-10.
 
CLUB TEAM: Bruder played for the Utah Avalanche. She was the club’s player of the year in 2012 and was named NSCAA Youth All-America. Her Avalanche teams won the 2010 PDT and Las Vegas Showcases, and 2009 U.S. club regional and Disney Showcase championships. She also played for Sparta Premier ’95 prior to her time with the Utah Avalanche, winning two state cups.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Bruder graduated from Juan Diego Catholic High School in 2013, where she was first-team all-state all four years from the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, while earning NSCAA All-America honors. As a both a sophomore and junior, she was named Class 3A MVP and led the state in scoring. She led Juan Diego Catholic to state championship in 2009 and 2010, scoring the game-winning goals both years. Bruder was also the captain of the basketball team as a senior, the only year she played. She was also an honor roll member, the high school newspaper’s sports editor, and a National Junior Young Leader. She won the state high school journalism award and was also active in the community in the Sub for Santa program, while forming the charitable organization “Coats for Change.” She was a 2011 and 2012 finalist for the Governor’s State of Sport Award as Utah’s best high school female athlete.
 
IN THE CLASSROOM: Bruder is majoring in sociology and would like to work in occupational therapy after graduation.
 
PERSONAL: Emily Louis Bruder was born on Feb. 18, 1995, to Kevin and Susan Bruder. Her older sister Allison played soccer at Assumption College and her younger brother Joel is the team manager for Gonzaga’s basketball team. She also has a younger brother Chris who plays hockey and loves sports. She chose CU because it will help her achieve her goals both on and off the field.
