2017: Indoor: In his first season with the Buffs, Artner became an important competitor in the 60-meter hurdles. Arnter saw success as he improved his PR time almost every week. His fastest time came at the CU Open in early February where he finished fourth with a time of 8.12.

2012-2016 (At Lewis & Clark): Artner raced previously at Lewis & Clark College. Last season (2016), Artner placed 17th at nationals in the 400-hurdles, finishing in 54.74 seconds. That same season, he won a pair of Northwest Conference titles, taking the 110-meter hurdles crown in 15.17 and the 400-hurdles title in 53.00. Artner was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team which placed fourth at conference. His 400-hurdles time of 53.00 was the 10th fastest time by an NCAA Division III runner. Artner’s 110- and 400-hurdle times rank second in school history.

HIGH SCHOOL: Artner raced the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes, as well as the 110 and 300-meter hurdles as a member of the South Medford High School track and field team. He owns the school record in the 300-hurdles (38.62) and was named first team all-district and second team all-state as a senior.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Artner is pursuing a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. He earned bachelor degrees in physics and mathematics from Lewis & Clark College in May of 2016 and recorded an impressive 3.729 GPA. Artner was a three-time all-academic selection while at LCC.       Â

PERSONAL: Kodie Maxwell Artner was born on November 21, 1993 in West Hills, Calif. He is the son of Eric and Lisa Artner of Medford, Ore. He enjoys hiking and building. Artner was a summer intern at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
