2018: Indoor: Carmichael focused his sophomore campaign on the heptathlon. He earned fifth place at the Colorado Invitational with a total point score of 3893. 
Outdoor: Carmichael’s saw success in the decathlon in his outdoor season. He brought home fifth place at the Pac-12 Combined Events Championships with a total point score 5,822, just behind his personal best score of 6,027 at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa.
 
2017: Indoor: Carmichael had a strong freshman campaign focusing his attention on the heptathlon. His best score was a 4,401 at the Colorado Open, where he finished fourth overall. It was an improvement of almost 200 points as he scored 4,218 points two months early at the CSM Alumni Classic & Multi. At the CU Open, Carmichael earned personal bests in the 60-meters (7.52), 1,000-meters (3:01.29), high jump (5-6), pole vault (13-9.25) and long jump (20-1.75). 
Outdoor: Did not compete.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Carmichael competed in many events on the track and field team at Skyline. As a senior, he qualified for the state championships in the 110-meter hurdles and pole vault. Carmichael placed 10th in the prelims of the 110-hurdles (15.52) and was fifth in the pole vault (13-2). He earned all-conference honors in the long jump, 110-hurdles and pole vault, was an academic all-state honoree and was selected the Male Most Valuable Track Athlete for SHS as a senior. His first place jump (14-0) in the pole vault at the Randall Hess Invitational (4/23/16) set a school record. As a junior, Carmichael was an all-conference selection in the 110-hurdles. He was also a member of the tennis team, where he earned three letters.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Carmichael is an integrative physiology major who owns a GPA greater than 3.60.
 
PERSONAL: Aaron Nicholas Carmichael was born on February 8, 1998 in Longmont, Colo. He is the son of Douglas and Patricia Carmichael and has one brother, Nate, and one sister, Hannah.  Carmichael is very musical as he plays guitar, piano and percussion. He was a member of the drumline in high school and would have tried out at CU if he wasn’t on the track and field team. Carmichael also enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee, Frisbee golf and going for hikes.
