College—Career: CU’s first first-team All-Pac 12 golfer (as a senior), he became the seventh player in school history to play in four NCAA Championships, and the 25th to play in four conference championships … Owns or shares 23 school records … Career average of 72.11 second only to twin brother Jeremy’s figure of 71.72 in CU history … He posted subpar cumulative scores in 22 of 47 tournaments (tied for the most), with 24 top 20 finishes (sixth most at CU), 13 top 10 efforts (tied for eighth) and eight top 5 (sixth) … Had 73 rounds of par or better (one shy of the school best, 74 by his brother), 63 career subpar rounds (second to his brother’s 66), 37 of those in the 60s (also second to Jeremy’s 40) … Finished his career with 11 rounds of par or better, the first 10 of which were subpar, both of which were also records.

2017-18 (Sr.): CU’s co-Male Athlete of the Year for all sports (with skier Ola Johansen) ... An honorable mention PING All-American and a first-team All-Pac-12 performer, the latter as selected by the league coaches ... The team leader in stroke average at 70.24, which was also good for fourth in the Pac-12 Conference and 11th in the NCAA in relation to par (-1.47), setting the CU single-season record (he broke his older twin’s (Jeremy) mark of 70.66 set in 2015-16) ... His spring average of 69.64 shattered the old best as well, and became the first school record for an average under 70 in any category … Was the team leader or tied for the lead in 21 statistical categories, perhaps the most impressive the fact that he has just six holes out of 612 worse than bogey all year (four doubles and two triples) ... Also led in subpar rounds (24), rounds of par or better (26), top 20 finishes (eight), birdies (143) and in average by round for the first (70.55), middle (70.08) and final (70.09) rounds ... Tied for second in the Pac-12 Championships, as his 68-69-68-67—272 (-12) effort was four back of medalist Justin Suh of USC ... Finished in a tie for 12th at the NCAA West Regional in Stockton (71-69-72—212, -4) … Top finish was his first major win, as he was co-medalist in ASU’s Thunderbird (67-66-69—202, -11), just the sixth time at CU a player scored three rounds in the 60s in the same event (and then went out the next time at Pac-12s and did it four straight) ... Set the school mark of 10 straight subpar rounds, breaking the mark of eight he set earlier in the spring ... The last seven of those rounds were in the 60s, tying that school mark ... Also set the school single-season record with nine tournaments under par (he held the old mark of seven with his brother Jeremy), with the last five of those in a row, also a school best … His 16 rounds in the 60s were the second-most in a single-season in school history … He played in three fall tournaments, with his 71.89 stroke average third-best on the team; he missed CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational due to a back injury.  He opened strong with a tie for third in Air Force’s Miranda Invitational (67-71-70—208, -8), his sixth straight tournament to open a fall or spring season under par.  The next time out, he had an uncharacteristic 11-over effort (227) in the UNM Tucker Invitational, playing the entire meet with the aforementioned back problems.  He improved over the next month and finished the fall with another effort in red numbers, tying for 32nd in Hawai’i’s Princeville Intercollegiate (212, -4; he opened with a 78 but played the last 36 holes at 10-under par, with 11 birdies and 24 pars and just a single bogey).  In a qualifying round at Boulder Country Club, he shot a 62 (30-32), the second-lowest round ever recorded at the course.

2016-17 (Jr.-RS)—He played in all 13 tournaments and posted a 72.43 stroke average; while “just” third best on the team, it was the 12th-best for a single season in school history; he had recorded a 71.00 stroke average in the fall, with that number tying the third best fall average ever at Colorado.  He had 33 of his 37 rounds count toward team scoring (89.2 percent), leading the team in rounds of par or better (17, 13 of which were subpar, which tied for the team-high).  He returned after a year away from collegiate competition to open up with a pair of 66s (132, -10) to win CU’s Ballyneal Challenge.   He finished in the top 13 in five of the six fall events (and was under par in all), including a sixth-place effort in Air Force’s Miranda Invitational (215, -1) and a tie for 10th in Denver’s Paintbrush Invitational (213, -3).  He closed the fall with a pair of 70s to tie for 13th in the stroke play portion in UCLA’s Gifford Collegiate (140, -4), and was 1-2 in the match play competition.  All but one of his fall rounds were between 66 and 2-over par (11 were even-par or better, including a team-high nine subpar).  He got off to a good start in the spring (was even through nine rounds), including his two best finishes: a tie for 14th in the Bandon Dunes Championship (215, -1) and a tie for 27th in Wyoming’s Desert Intercollegiate (218, +2).  He finished the Bandon Dunes meet with a 3-under 69, which would be last subpar round of the spring, which he finished with a 73.52 average.  He did close the year with an even-par 72 in the final round of the NCAA Central Regional at Purdue, where he tied for 31st (225, +9); that was his same finish in the Pac-12 Championships (220, +10).  He led the team in eagles (5) and pars (412), with 79.4 percent of his rounds par or better (second-best on the team, as was his final round average of 71.69).  He finished 14th in the Team Europe Standings for the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup.

2015-16 (Jr.)—He took the year off from school; he returned to his native Germany for personal reasons and to seriously consider turning professional, but opted to come back to the States to resume his collegiate career and education.

2014-15 (Soph.): He finished second on the team in stroke average with a 72.23 mark, sixth-best in school history; his 71.89 mark for the spring led the team and was the second-best on record at Colorado.  He was second in subpar rounds with 14, with 91.4 percent of his rounds counting toward team scoring; his 79.6 percent figure of rounds of par or better was also a team-best.   He played in all 12 tournaments on the year, one of his top efforts coming in the spring opener where he was 8-under par (208) in Hawai’i-Hilo’s Amer Ari Invitational, which tied him for 18th.  He closed the Pac-12 Championships with a final round 68, which gave him a 5-over 285 to tie him for 19th. He was CU’s top finisher in both those events, and was the second best performer when he tied for 21st in the NCAA Central Regional (220, +4).  In the six fall tournaments, he recorded a 72.59 stroke average, the 15th-best ever for the fall portion of a season at Colorado.  He opened up the year matching his career-best tournament finish with a tie for second in the Air Force Falcon Invitational, turning in a 69-71-67—207 (-9) effort that was one shot back of medalist honors.  He had three other tournaments where he was under par, a strong 8-under par effort at the Amer Ari Invitational (73-67-68—208), which tied him for 18th and earned him CU’s Male Athlete of the Week honor; the other pair were both minus-3 efforts that tied him for sixth both times: CU’s own Mark Simpson Invitational (141) and Cal’s Alister Mackenzie Invitational (210); he led the latter through two rounds after a 66-67 start, the 133 total the fifth-best 36 hole score in school history.  Eleven of his 18 rounds in the spring were 73 or better, with his high score a 4-over 76.  He was ranked in the nation’s top 300 at the end of the year, No. 229 by Golfweek and No. 256 by GolfStat.

2013-14 (Fr.): He finished fourth on the team in stroke average with a 73.53 figure, the third lowest number ever posted by a freshman; he led the team for the fall with a 72.5 mark, which tied for the 12th lowest fall average in school history and was also the third lowest fall average by a freshman (true or redshirt; the last freshman to lead the Buffs in fall scoring at the break was Kane Webber in the 1999-2000 season).  He had 12 subpar rounds and 15 of par or better.  His best finish, a tie for second in UTEP’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational to end the fall (9-under, 66-72-69—207, three shots out of the lead), was the best in school history by a freshman for a 54-hole tournament on any course layout (and tied for the seventh best overall on a par-72 configuration); though his brother matched it in the spring.  He twice recorded a 6-under par 66 for his collegiate best, in the UTEP meet and in the first round at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, where he tied for fifth (210, -6).  He tied for 16th in his first collegiate tourney, carding a 1-over 217 (75-71-71) scorecard at the Air Force Miranda Invitational.   He placed in the top 50 in eight of his 11 tournaments, seven in the top 31, including tying for 31st at the Pac-12 Championships (300, +12) where his third round score (69, -3) was the only score in the 60s in the field (and was a 13-stroke improvement over his second round score); he followed that with a final round 71.  In the NCAA Southeast Regional he opened strong with a 2-under 70, which had him tied for second one shot out of the lead, but he eventually finished at 23-over 239 and 69th.  He had only four scores worse than a double bogey on a hole (612 holes), none in the fall, and he had the only bogey free round on the team all season (his final round 70 at the Amer Ari Invitational, where he had 16 pars, also a team-high, and two birdies).  For the year, he ranked in the nation’s top 100 in five categories: greens-in-regulation (1st, 75.3 percent), “ham-&egg” (ninth, 12/2), sand saves (16th, 53.3 percent), putting par (67th, 0.92), fairways hit (80th, 68.9 percent),

High School— He was considered one of the top international recruits, along with his twin brother Jeremy, in college golf’s 2012-13 recruiting class.  Along with his brother, he helped his prep school, Albertus-Magnus Schule, to second-place finishes in Germany’s National School Team Championships in both 2011 and 2012.  He had a 71.89 stroke average as a senior and a 73.1 mark as a junior.  He also played soccer.

Other—2016: He made international history with his brother (Yannik) when the pair became the first twins to play in the same European Tour event, participating in the BMW International Open in their native Germany (they were also the only amateurs that qualified); he sot 73-78—151 (+7), missing the cut by eight strokes.  2015: He played in that same BMW event, shooting 76-70—146 but missed the cut.  He tied for 15th in the First Qualifying Stage (Section D) event (72-73-68-70—283, -5) and then tied for 25th in the Second Qualifying Stage (67-61-69-69—276, -8).  2014: He won the German International Amateur Championship, as he entered the final round as the co-leader and posted a two-stroke win (70-67-66-67—270, -18); he recorded two eagles, 27 birdies and 35 pars on his way to the title, opening and closing all four rounds with a birdie or better.  2013: He finished eighth in the German International Amateur Championship (72-67-75-70—284).  He was the second low amateur (to his brother) in the Pro Golf Tour tournament at Glashofen Neusass, as he finished 15th overall with a 73-73-72—218.  He was 29th in the Luxembourg International Amateur (75-74-76—225).  2012: A member of the German National Junior Team, he reached the round of 32 at the British Boys Amateur Championship.  He placed seventh in the German International Men’s Amateur, where his third round 68 was the low score in the entire field for all rounds (80-75-68-72—295).  2011: He was the Hessen State champion with a 70-70—140 performance and was ninth in the German Boys Championship (79-71-68—218).  2010: He was the state champion in the open class (73-71—144), placed second in the German Nationals (73-70—143), and was eighth in the European Young Masters.  2009: He was third in the Harder German Junior Masters (68-69-74—211).

Best Career Round In Competition—65 (-6: Germany Match Play Team Championship, July 2013; 66, -6: twice in 2013-14, UTEP Give ‘Em Five Invitational, Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate)

Academics—He graduated with a degree in Business (Management) from Colorado in May 2018.

Personal—He was born March 5, 1994 in Frankfurt, Germany, one minute after his twin Jeremy, which makes him the “younger” brother (Jeremy graduated from CU in May 2017 after earning four letters in golf and setting over two dozen school records).  His hobbies include playing soccer and fitness in general.  He once played together in a tournament with Bernhard Langer.
