Career at Colorado—In her three seasons of eligibility at Colorado, she posted 13 podium finishes to rank in a tie for the 13th most in Colorado history … She was a three-time All-American and the RMISA MVP in 2018.
2018 (Junior)—She finished her career with her best season on the collegiate circuit … Was named the RMISA MVP for women’s alpine … Earned a pair of second-team All-America honors for finishing seventh at the NCAA Championships in both the slalom and giant slalom races … Also received CU’s Outstanding Alpine Award … She posted seven podium finishes on the season and won three races – all in the slalom … Twice finished second in giant slalom races, which included her runner-up finish at the RMISA Championships … Hit the podium in three-straight races over the Montana State and Utah Invitationals.
2017 (Sophomore)—She was a first-team All-RMISA selection … Competed at the NCAA Championships for a second-straight season after finishing the regular season second in the RMISA women’s alpine MVP points list ... In 14 races on the season, she finished 12 of them with 10 top 10 finishes ... Earned four podium appearances that all came in her first four races of the season ... Her top finish was a pair of second-place showings in the giant slalom in the Montana State and Utah Invitationals ... She also placed third in the slalom at the MSU Invite to earn RMISA Skier of the Week honors ... At the RMISA Championships, she finished eighth in both the slalom and giant slalom ... Then to end the year she came in 13th in the slalom at the NCAA Championships, but did not finish the giant slalom race.
2016 (Freshman)—She put the wraps on one of the best women’s alpine freshman seasons in CU history and the top women’s alpine season in almost a decade for the Buffs ... She finished 12 of 14 races, all in the top 20 and was 10 times in the top 10 ... She had six top five finishes, five podium appearances and two race victories, both in giant slalom action at the Montana State Invitational and the CU Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational ... A stronger slalom skier coming into CU, she excelled in giant slalom throughout the season, finishing off the podium just once in six finishes with two wins, a second place and twice was third ... One of her third place GS finishes was at the NCAA Championships, earning her first-team All-America honors ... She was first-team All-RMISA and the RMISA Skier of the Week for the first meet of the season in Park City at the Utah Invitational ... She was a finalist for the CU CUSPY for Female Freshman of the Year and was twice a CU Athlete of the Week selection, for the Utah and CU Invitationals.
Prior to CU—Trulsrud has skied for Norwegian Europacup Team in 2014-15, for Lillehammer University College in 2013-14 and for Donski Alpine club from 2009-13 ... She has been skiing in FIS races since 2009 and has finished 189 of 284 races prior to the start of her collegiate career with 86 top 10, 26 podium appearances and eight victories ... She won her first FIS race in Kongsberg, Norway in 2012, and during the 2014 season, she won six races, three slalom, one giant slalom, one Super-G and one super combine ... She has 28 European Cup starts under her belt with 12 finishes including one top 30 result ... She has 24 National Championship races to her credit from Norway ... In 2014 she took her first championship medal in Hemsedal, Norway, finishing third in Super-G ... In 2015 Norwegian Championships, she finished in the top 10 four times and twice was fifth, in Super-G and in giant slalom ... She participated in FIS Junior World Ski Championships prior to the start of her freshman season in 2015 in Hafjell, Norway ... She finished in all five disciplines, her best individual result being 14th place in giant slalom ... In team event, she won a gold medal in parallel slalom with team Norway.
High School—Trulsrud graduated from Donski Videregaaende Skole in Baerum, Norway in June 2013.
In the Classroom—Trulsrud is majoring in architectural engineering at Colorado … Was a three-time selection to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, which is essentially an Academic All-America honor.
Personal—Tonje Healey Trulsrud was born Jan. 16, 1994, in Baerum, Norway ... In her free time she enjoys reading and backcountry skiing.
