Career at Colorado—Scrimgeour competed in 35 races in his career, finishing 34 of them. He ended his career on a high note, finishing 18th in the 10K classic at the 2017 RMISA Championships to match the best classical finish of his career.

2017 (Senior)—He competed in every race through the RMISA Championships and saved his best for last on the season. At regionals, he was able to post his best classical and freestyle results of the season. He finished 18th in the 10K classic, matching the best finish of his career in the discipline, and 22nd in the 20K freestyle. In two other classical races, one a 20K at the MSU Invitational and the other a 10K at the Alaska Anchorage Invitational, he placed 22nd in both meets.

2016 (Junior)–He ended his season having finished all 12 races leading up the NCAA Championships and he cracked the top 20 two times, both in classic 20K races with 18th-place finishes in each (first at the Utah Invitational to open the year and later at the Colorado Invitational).
 
2015 (Sophomore)–Competed in all 10 races through the RMISA Championships on CU’s National Championship team. One of his top meets was the New Mexico Invitational at the end of January when he took 18th in the 10K freestyle race and 10th in the 20K classic race. He placed 24th in the classic race and 28th in freestyle at the RMISA Championships.

2014 (Freshman)—As a freshman on an already deep Nordic team, Scrimgeour was plagued with illness throughout his freshman season. He finished four of five races that he participated in with the CU Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational the only meet in which he finished both races, taking 26th in the 10K classic race and 28th in the 20K freestyle race.  He took 24th in the 10K freestyle race at the Montana State Invitational and 26th in the 10K classic race at the RMISA Championships. 

Club— Scrimgeour competed with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club through high school and then competed with Ski Club Vail from 2012-13. He enjoyed 10 top 10 finishes at Junior Nationals and finished first in the 2011 Junior National relay. He also competed with the Scandinavian cup team.

High School—Scrimgeour graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in June 2012.

In the Classroom—Scrimgeour is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado and is also interested in Architecture.

Personal— Maxfield Scrimgeour was born August 18, 1994 in Boulder, Colo., to Tom Scrimgeour and Sandi Gibson.  He is interested in mountain biking and aspires to keep skiing and get a great job after college. He has worked as a bike mechanic at Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs.  He chose Colorado because it’s close to home and “the best place for school and skiing.”
