Career at Colorado—In her career she competed in 40 races and recorded 15 finishes inside the top 15.
2017 (Senior)—She was named to the 2017 USCSCA National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team for the third time in her career, which requires a cumulative 3.5 grade point average and competing at the NCAA Regional Championships. On the season she had a pair of top 20 finishes in classical races, both coming in the first two meets of the season at Utah and Montana State. In her fourth and final RMISA Championships, she placed 25th in the 5K classical and 21st in the 15K freestyle skate.
2016 (Junior)—Earned Division I National All-Academic Ski Team (3.5 GPA, Participate In RMISA Championships or injured) honors for a second consecutive season due to her success in the classroom. She excelled in the 15k classic races on the year, finishing in the top 15 in four out of her five races in the discipline with her best finish of ninth place coming in the RMISA Championships to end her year. Her top 5k freestyle finish on the season was 12th at the New Mexico Invitational.
2015 (Sophomore)—Was named to the Division I National All-Academic Ski team, which requires a minimum GPA of 3.50 and regional participation. She competed in all 12 races leading up to the NCAA Championships, recording four top 20 finishes. Hit her peak midway through the year at the New Mexico Invitational, finishing 10th in the 5k classic – her top finish of the season in any classic race. She also finished 18th in the freestyle races at the UNM Invite, matching her top finish in the discipline for the season (to go with her 18th place finish in the season-opening Utah Invitational).
2014 (Freshman)—Brautaset was immediately thrown into the mix as a true freshman. She came to CU at the start of the spring semester and missed the Utah Invitational because she was not yet cleared to compete. She was able to immediately meet up with the team in Bozeman for the Montana State Invitational and hit the trails fast, finishing eighth in her first collegiate race, a 5K classic, and 11th in the 10K freestyle race, both the top finishes for the Buffs. After struggling in CU’s classic race, she hit her stride and had a pair of top five finishes at New Mexico, both her season best, fourth in the classic and fifth in the freestyle, and in the process she earned the RMISA Skier of the Week and CU Athlete of the Week honors for her performance there. She continued her impressive skiing at the RMISA Championships, finishing seventh in the classical race and eighth in the freestyle. In all in 10 races, she had five top 10 finishes and in three additional races, she finished 11th, including in the freestyle race at the NCAA Championships, missing being an All-American by just a few seconds. She was named to the second-team All-RMISA squad and was also given CU”s Outstanding Women’s Nordic Award.
Club— Brautaset competed with Heming Ski Club for 12 years, claiming first place in the freestyle at the 2012 Oslo Championship. In addition, she finished in the top 15 in the 10 km at the Norwegian Junior Championships.
High School— Brautaset graduated from Handelsgym in Oslo in June 2013.
In the Classroom— Brautaset is undecided on a major at Colorado.
